This year, there’s even more to celebrate than usual on April 20th, now that 17 states plus Washington, D.C. have legalized the recreational use of marijuana. Four of those states—New Jersey, New York, Virginia and New Mexico—have done so in the past two months, so it’s probably still sinking in.
And if your plans for this coming Tuesday—yes, that would be 4/20—involve spending time in a hotel room and doing anything that might make you a little hungry, you may be interested in entering a contest where you could win $200 to spend on room service, for whatever you happen to be craving. Here’s what to know.
How to win room service money
In order to be eligible for the $200 and enter the contest, you have to have a hotel room booked for the night of April 20, 2021. Then, send your hotel reservation confirmation to [email protected] at some point between now and 4:20 a.m. on April 20th. (A quick reminder that 4:20 a.m. on April 20th is also considered the middle of the night of April 19th—just pointing that out now to avoid unintentionally late entries and the disappointment that follows.)
As you have probably gleaned from the email address above, Hotels.com is behind the contest. But if you’ve already booked a hotel for the night of April 20th and it wasn’t through Hotels.com, don’t worry—the site is accepting booking confirmations from any property or online travel service.
A total of 20 travelers (who’ve submitted their 4/20 hotel reservation confirmation) will be selected to receive a $200 Visa gift card to use for room service. In addition to that, if the winners have an account with Hotels.com, they’ll get a free reward night for their next trip, as well as “VIP gold status,” which includes late check out.
